چکیده

Our objective was to evaluate the effects of protein supplementation frequency on performance and voluntary intake cattle under grazing in tropical pastures by using a meta-analytical approach. The dataset used compiled from 18 experiments carried out Brazil between 2009 2021, totaling 75 treatment means. In order animal performance, means were collected 19 2003 2018, 69 data analyzed meta-analysis techniques, considering random effect model parameters. Escape protein supplementation of yearling steers grazing smooth brome pastures.

Two grazing trials utilizing individually supplemented yearling steers were conducted to study the effect of supplemental escape protein on steer performance during the active growth periods, spring and fall, of smooth brome (Bromus inermis). Graded levels (0, .11, .23 and .34 kg.head-1.d-1) of an equal-protein-basis mixture of bloodmeal and corn gluten meal were offered daily, replacing corn s...

Trace Mineral Supplementation of Grazing Beef Cattle

The nutrient quality of forage, particularly perennial warm-season grasses, is often lacking in trace mineral content to supply the requirements of most all classes of grazing cattle. Since forage is the most significant contributor to the trace mineral nutrition of grazing beef cattle, it is important to consider these deficits and how they may impact the performance of the cattle consuming th...

Does Grazing Affect Regional Climate?

Before European settlement, the Great Plains of the United States contained vast herds of bison. These bison altered the landscape through their grazing. Measurement data of the disturbance that such grazing could produce, when scaled for the large population of bison, were used with a coupled atmospheric–ecosystem model to evaluate the likely effect that this grazing had on the growing season ...
